Oregon's hatcheries: charting a sustainable future

Small Group Meetings

Who are the small group participants?

The 'small group' consists of representatives of groups that have an interest in ODFW's hatchery system, engage statewide or across a broad geography, and have a diversity of perspectives. The participants are listed below

What will be discussed?

Through the small group, we are providing a space for representatives of groups with a diversity of perspectives on hatcheries to share those perspectives and experiences, understand and learn from each other, and provide insight to ODFW’s hatchery resilience leads regarding how ODFW can achieve its goal of a hatchery system that is flexible to meet changing needs for harvest and conservation, is resilient to the impacts of a changing climate, provides opportunities for community engagement, is a good neighbor to wild fish, and is financially sustainable.

The conversations will be informed by the two prior large group meetings, the three August webinars, and outreach from the broader invested community. All past meeting materials can be accessed on the ODFW website. Members of the small group are acting as liaisons to the broader community and can be contacted using the provided emails and phone numbers. Additionally, a report out will be posted from each small group meeting so interested parties can track key issues and developments and provide input, as desired.

The Department is not seeking consensus from this group, the group is not voting on proposals, nor will the group be providing recommendations to the Department.

Willamette Partnership will facilitate the small group meetings and their team is available if you have any questions, contributions, or feedback. Please feel free to contact Willamette Partnership in the following ways: Kellyn Baez: baez@willamettepartnership.org; 503-935-4503 Teresa Jacobs: teresagailjacobs@gmail.com; 505-501-4385
