SALEM, Ore. – The seven-member working group organized by the Oregon and Washington departments of fish and wildlife to review spring chinook harvest and allocation will meet in The Dalles, Ore. on Friday, Jan. 3.
The meeting will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and Museum, 5000 Discovery Dr., The Dalles, Ore. A public comment period is scheduled for 4 p.m.
The working group was first convened in September 2013 to review and discuss how the management guideline for upriver spring chinook is shared among the recreational fisheries downstream and upstream of Bonneville Dam. The goal for the Jan. 3 meeting will be to identify management options that can be referred to and considered by the larger Columbia River Recreational Fisheries Advisory Group at its upcoming meeting on Jan. 16.
The working group is comprised of three representatives from below Bonneville Dam, two from Bonneville Dam to the Washington/Oregon border, and two from the Snake River. ### |
