PORTLAND, Ore. —  Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife staff will be on hand at the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show to answer attendees’ questions about how to get the most out of their outdoor recreation experiences.

Pick up a copy of A Beginner's Guide to Waterfowl Hunting in the Sauvie Island Wildlife Area. Informational materials on how to fish, hunt, clam and crab will also be available. The 2011 ODFW Outdoors calendar of workshops and clinics is hot off the press and will appeal to those interested in trying out a new sport.

Oregon State Police will showcase the problem of poaching in Oregon, displaying decoys and talking to hunters about what the state is doing to combat poaching and how hunters can help.

“We hope everyone will stop by the ODFW booth at the show. The ODFW staff enjoys meeting hunters and anglers and answering their questions,” said Rick Hargrave, ODFW Deputy Administrator, Information and Education.
