Fishery management plans (FMPs)

The Marine Resources Program has developed the Marine Fisheries Management Plan Framework (pdf 50 pages), a guide to our fisheries managers for building FMPs. Oregon FMPs describe the science of our fishery species and our management approach. MRP will be developing FMPs on other species and species groups as opportunity and resources allow.

FEDERAL AND INTERNATIONAL

The Marine Resources Program engages in federal FMPs through the Pacific Fishery Management Council, which designs and implements four fishery plans and one ecosystem plan.

Pacific halibut is managed by the International Pacific Halibut Commission.
