PENDLETON, Ore.—The Umatilla River spring chinook season from the Hwy. 730 Bridge upstream to the reservation boundary located upstream of the Hwy 11 Bridge at Pendleton will be closed, Thursday, May 24, 2012, effective12:01 a.m.

The last day of fishing will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Spring chinook returns have been much lower than predicted, and higher than anticipated catch rates late last week have forced the need for the closure.
