Definition: Prioritizes areas that have been documented to include Oregon Conservation Strategy habitats.
Aggregation method: The Oregon Conservation Strategy (OCS) habitat analysis was undergone in 2005, in coordination with the initial development of the Strategy. The habitat data was overlaid with the hexagon base data, and the percentage area of OCS habitat within each hexagon was calculated. The results were then classified into three categories, as described within the priority rank definitions. Note that ODFW is planning on updating the OCS habitat data as a component of the 2015 Oregon Conservation Strategy revision.
Priority Rank Definitions
Priority 1: A majority of area (76% - 100%) within the hexagon contains an Oregon Conservation Strategy habitat.
Priority 2: A moderate amount of area (26% - 75%) within the hexagon contains some type of Oregon Conservation Strategy habitat.
Priority 3: A small amount of area (1% - 25%) within the hexagon contains some type of Oregon Conservation Strategy habitat.
Priority 6: Hexagon does not contain any modeled OCS habitat.

Oregon Conservation Strategy Habitats |
Created in 2004, this dataset represents the distribution of Strategy Habitats throughout Oregon, as identified in the Oregon Conservation Strategy. It is a subset of the current habitats layer developed for the Strategy by the Oregon Natural Heritage Information Center, which is based on groupings of ecological systems.
