I have heard this may be to an anomaly in the predictor (ocean temp off Coos Bay). Can you comment on this? 11:33:55 From Carl Finley : That message is from Carl Finley, forgot to sign it. 11:35:12 From Chris Kern (ODFW) : Carl, I'll take a shot in a bit. thx 11:43:01 From Dave Grigsby : Thanks for the information. 11:45:08 From Paul to Lynn Mattes(Privately) : do you have a link for the mtgs going on in CA and WA 11:45:28 From Lynn Mattes to Paul(Privately) : let me check with Eric 11:49:43 From Justine Kenyon-Benson (ODFW) : Paul, here is a link to information on the CDFW salmon meeting https://cdfgnews.wordpress.com/2021/02/05/cdfw-to-host-virtual-public-meeting-on-ocean-salmon-fisheries/ 11:50:00 From Lynn Mattes to Paul(Privately) : see message from Justine 11:50:17 From Paul to Lynn Mattes(Privately) : thank you 11:50:59 From Justine Kenyon-Benson (ODFW) : Paul here is information about the WDFW meetings https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/management/north-falcon/public-meetings 11:52:08 From Justine Kenyon-Benson (ODFW) : information about tomorrow's WDFW meeting https://wdfw.wa.gov/get-involved/calendar/event/north-falcon-2021-forecasts 11:54:34 From Paul to Lynn Mattes(Privately) : would have to leave this zoom mtg to join CA webinar 12:37:15 From Kevin F/V Jean C : Recommendation 1 Similar season as last year Recommendation 2 Maintain season as last year except delayed start to June 14 commercial troll fishery Recommendation 3 Delay start of Commercial troll to June 14...... Tuesday thru Saturday.....mandatory call in to ODFW within 12 hours of landing.....if catch limits near unacceptable numbers based on predictive forecast in season adjustments or closures as needed Rational : Predictions are similar if not lower than last year. With a historic low catch success for Commercial troll last year the upcoming season , may follow this pattern based on effort , weather and pandemic impact. By delaying fishery till June a great portion of the fleet will more than likely pursue Pelagic Species lessening the impact on Salmon Troll. 13:04:47 From wilson to Lynn Mattes(Privately) : I would rather have a start in mid april at the latest its kinda a mane income for us small guys down south considering the crab season we are having its going to be a bit more needed 13:06:17 From wilson : I would rather have a start in mid april at the latest its kinda a mane income for us small guys down south considering the crab season we are having its going to be a bit more needed 13:19:44 From Dave Grigsby : I would also advocate for a later in June Coho start so it goes longer into the summer. The early June start the fish are really small. 13:21:04 From Dave Grigsby : Thank you 13:24:19 From Dave Grigsby : I would like to see the non-select start pushed to September 11th. The labor day weekend will eat up the quota very quickly. It would be nice to try to extend it out to a couple weekends this year. 13:33:49 From Dave Grigsby : Could we do two openings for non-select to split the quota between at least two Saturdays? 13:34:26 From Dave Grigsby : The goal would be to have at least two weekends for those that cant go every weekend. 13:44:47 From Chris Kern (ODFW) : We'll get that captured Dave G. - we have had the non-select split to successive weekends with break in between before. 13:51:57 From Shannon Bice to Lynn Mattes(Privately) : Can you scroll up so we can see the previous section for a minute? I think details were added. 13:52:18 From Lynn Mattes to Shannon Bice(Privately) : will ask the presenter in a moment 13:52:47 From Shannon Bice to Lynn Mattes(Privately) : Thank you. 13:54:02 From Lynn Mattes : https://www.dfw.state.or.us/MRP/salmon/index.asp#Updates 14:03:56 From Chris Kern (ODFW) : Paul, WDFW will be holding a NOF meeting tomorrow.https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/management/north-falcon.
