Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations provide requirements for all zones. However, additional regulations may be adopted in this rule division from time to time and to the extent of any inconsistency, they supersede the printed Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations booklet.

Beginning Saturday, July 18, 2015 until further notice, all waterbodies defined as ‘streams’ in the 2015 Oregon Sports Fishing Regulations will be closed to angling for trout, salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon from 2 P.M. to one hour before sunrise, daily. 

The following areas will remain open for angling for these species during normal hours under 2015 Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations:

  • All SW Zone tidewater areas – tidewater is defined as ‘stream or estuary waters affected by daily ebb and flow of tides (Page 7, 2015 Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations).
  • Mainstem Rogue River from Fishers Ferry upstream to William Jess Dam (also called Lost Creek Dam),
  • All Rogue River tributaries upstream of William Jess Dam (Lost Creek Dam) and Lost Creek Reservoir.

Angling for warmwater gamefish and other fish, as defined in the regulations, remains open under normal rules.

ROUGUE RIVER -- Fisher’s Ferry boat ramp to the mouth of the river, and on all tributaries normally open to fishing

  • Re-open to normal fishing hours – one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset

UMPQUA RIVER - Scottsburg Bridge (Hwy. 38) to River Forks Boat Ramp

  • See emergency SW Zone angling hour restrictions above.
  • Effective June 23 – Oct. 1, 2015, fishing is prohibited within 200 feet of all tributaries including no angling in the tributaries themselves from the mouth to 200 feet upstream.

UMPQUA RIVER - tips of jetties to confluence of the North and South Umpqua rivers

  • See emergency SW Zone angling hour restrictions above.
  • Fall Chinook opens July 1 – Dec. 31, 2015. Harvest limit is two adult wild Chinook per day, 20 per year in combination with all other salmon or steelhead marked on anglers’ tags.
