The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the owners of Luckiamute Valley Pheasants (lvpheasants.com), a private game preserve, invite you to attend this exciting new upland game bird workshop. You will have a class room session on pheasant hunting and a safety orientation before heading out to the range for target practice and to increase your shotgun shooting skills. Following the range practice we will divide up and each group will be paired with a volunteer guide and dog. This is a one day Family Pheasant Hunting Workshop designed for beginner hunters and will take place near Monmouth, Oregon. Lunch and all equipment (including dogs, shotguns, ammo, and safety gear) will be provided; you will need a valid Oregon hunting license and the upland game bird validation with the upland HIP. If you do not have a hunting license you may choose to buy a Preserve License. Preserve licenses will be available on site. Cost is $6 for residents and $12 for non-resident. Preserve licenses are good for any preserve for the year but will not allow you to hunt on any other property.

Please Note: You must have in your possession a valid Oregon Hunting License as well Upland Game Bird Validation in order to hunt Pheasant in this workshop: For more information on licensing, refer to the current Oregon Game Bird Regulations or call (503) 947-6101. Hunting licenses and validation tags will NOT be available at this event so please purchase them in advance.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received two weeks (14 days) prior to any workshop will receive a full refund, less a 25% processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to a workshop. You may however, send a substitute participant in your place.
All cancellations must be in writing. You can fax cancellations to 503-947-6009 or e-mail them to: Darlene.M.Sprecher@state.or.us. In your written cancellation, please state which workshop you will not be attending, your name, and a phone number in case we have questions. If you intend to send a substitute participant in your place, please give us their name and phone number/e-mail so that we can send them the required paperwork.
Jeff Johnson Workshop Scholarship Fund
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Outdoor Skills Education Program is happy to announce the Jeff Johnson Workshop Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund is there to help those people who are not capable of attending a workshop due to financial hardship. It will pay a portion of your fee.
Jeff Johnson was a dedicated instructor for our program and committed a great deal of his time passing his knowledge on to others. In this spirit of giving, the Jeff Johnson Scholarship Fund continues to give when Jeff cannot.
